The First Step Towards the American Dream

“I need the English now—for my life, for my job, for everything.”

Though some would argue that the American Dream is a thing of the past, we can assure you that the American Dream is alive and well at the Literacy Network of South Berkshire (LitNet).

Whether our families have lived here for one generation or ten generations, our ancestors came to this country in search of new opportunities and worked hard in order to succeed. With LitNet’s help, adult learners in our community continue that legacy and take the first steps toward achieving their American Dreams.

LitNet matches volunteer tutors with adult students for free, one-on-one instruction in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), citizenship test preparation, HiSET (high school equivalency test) preparation, or adult basic education.  About 90 percent of our students are immigrants who have come to America seeking better lives.

Your donation to the American Dream Campaign will give adults the opportunity to learn, reach their goals, and thrive in our community.  Please help make the American Dream a reality.
